The reddish silicone is high temp RV silicon. You should be able to get at any automotive store. Once dry it will be food safe.just like any silicone.

+1, that's what I've used to seal the door on my WSM.

+1 for bbqgaskets.com. Justin is a really nice guy and will steer you in the right direction if you have any questions about how you are going to use the product.

It's the same red silicone they use to seal fire rated sheetrock walls during construction. Home Depot or Lowes should have it.

I used the high temp stuff from an auto parts store. Also available from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-81160...dp/B0002UEN1A/

Works for me.

If you close all the vents on your WSM and the fire goes out, it's not leaking.

If you close all the vents and your fire does not go out, it's out of round.

Some smoke will escape from around the door and the other joints. Stop worrying about it.

I would check the three sections and make sure they are round (if you haven't already) before spending money on gaskets and such.
