Default Maverick or Thermoworks?

I need a new thermometer and was looking at the ET 733 or the Thermoworks TW 8060. What is everyone's thoughts on pros/cons of each?

Does the Thermoworks TW 8060 with the BBQ include a remote? ... and does the inclusion of the remote cost $221? I've never heard a complaint about thermoworks anything, so if money is no object....

I can't tell you anything bad about the tw8060 it's what I use all the time. It's built like a tank! I didn't know about the wireless option I don't think they offered it when I got mine.

I've been happy with my Maverick. Was going to get the Thermoworks, but figured for the huge price difference to try the ET-732. Glad I saved the money for other stuff.

the new blutherm duo is what I want next. I didn't like the mav. you can get the kit for 239.00. If money was no object that is what i would be getting plus you get to monitor from your iPhone, iPad etc.

The best answer to the above might be thermocouple extension wires to be able to keep the 8060 indoors. The accuracy and ruggedness of type K thermocouples and possibly close enough to hear the alarm.

I love my et732 and can't complain a bit after a couple dozen cooks. I do not consider it heavy duty or very durable though. So I figure I will use it till it fails and then replace it or upgrade to something better/ more expensive depending on my budget at the time. I have not used the Thermoworks so I can't comment there. I am sure there is higher quality stuff out there than the Maverick though, if your budget is there for it.

I'm not very impressed with my Maverick ET-732 at all. For a wireless thermometer with an alarm and two probes, its price is very appealing, but I've had issues with mine in less than 10 cooks.

Knowing what I know now, I probably would have tried something else. I feel like I ignored too many posts about people having issues with theirs.

I have 2 Maverick 732 and two of these Char-Griller units. They are identical and the Char-Grillers are only $40.

Aside from the waterproof probes of the 733, is there any big positive over the 732? Trying to get the most for the money.

I have the et 732 and have had good luck with it, but I'm sure that the probes are much better on the 733, so with that said, I would spend the extra money on the 733. The new one from thermoworks looks really cool, but it's really expensive
