Default Fixable? Not Really but........

I bought an Old Junk Bandera off CL a few months ago but it hadn't been Cleaned EVER and already had firebox welded on but once I finally got to scrapping I saw just how bad it was.........pretty much junk .......

Probally should toss it in scrap bin.......But instead I'm gonna have buddy at work weld up some scrap in L shape and chunk it in there backwards L like and put 4 bolts thru it and Burn Some Meats!!!

That poor ol' Bandera needs some TLC or just a nice rough quickie!

If you do decide to fix it, I'd suggest you get it media blasted. Then you can really assess how much has to be cut out and welded in. Get some sheared off pieces of steel, cut the smoker to fit the sheared off pieces. This makes it a lot easier to get a perfect fit and to weld. Your going to find the rusted out area's are 1/3 larger than you can see since the metal has gotten so thin to rust thru.

Maybe replace the firebox with an old Weber Kettle melded onto that side?

Someone recently posted an offset modded like that. They sawed the lid and added a hinge to it. It might make a great grill/smoker combo out of yours. Does anyone remember that thread?

Edit: Found it.

Great idea except during Crossfire which will blast right through it.

Use it as a template and build a new one, keep the existing frame and handles. Smitty, what'd you pay for that thing?

Too Much since it should have been $17. Since I don't Have a Welder or Weld worth a flip it's gonna just get a halfarse fix. It's not something they'd let me do at work even on Lunch Breaks - we can Sneak Small jobs here and there.
