Smile how many will a turkey feed

ok i need some help i am bbq'ing several turkeys on my for thanksgiving for my church, we are feeding the needy , how many can i feed off of a turkey 18-20 lb range ,may have as many as 500 people , not sure of the meat to carcass ratio

I figure 2 lbs raw weight per head that takes into account the bones and water weight loss.

Yep.. So if 500 people then 1000 pounds of Turkey ought to do her.. if Turkey is the only meat you are serving..

hey thanks for the info guys , won't know the number of people attending till closer to thanksgiving but i have 10 birds donated already and i have 12 weber kettles lined up and 3 ranch kettles set to go , i will post up some pics day or so after the big day

So, you are looking at close to 50 turkeys unless I screwed up. Dang, that is a lot of turkey.. Good luck Dude!
