Default First Attempt with BBQ Beef Ribs

Ok, so this was my first attempt with beef ribs and it's been a long time coming, I've wanted to do this for a while. Anyway, with the "Where's the Beef" Throwdown I though this was as good a time as any.

So, to start, I bought a nice rack of beef ribs

Rubbed it down with a mix of salt, pepper, cayenne, chili powder, garlic and onion powder and lastly a little mustard powder. This was basically the amazingribs.com big bad beef rub but, I changed the measurements around and made it a little spicier.

This next picture was about 2 hours in, I used oak on my Weber kettle.

At the two hour mark I foiled the ribs with just a little butter and a splash of Worcestershire sauce. I also stuffed some mushrooms with a little ground sausage mixed with breadcrumbs and parsley, VERY TASTY.

The next picture is after I pulled the ribs out of the foil with the mushrooms on the grill.

It all came together with a little white rice, It was really tasty, I am converted!

The rub was really good, I probably wouldn't make it as spicy if I was cooking for others but, they rub overall had that classical salt and pepper base and flavor with the added complexity of the other spices. I'd try it if you haven't I was pleasantly surprised!
