Default Early Thanksgiving......first smoked turkeyy

Well, I have been wanting for quite some time to smoke a turkey. Since my local food mart was having a sale (Butterball young premium turkeys 99 cents/lb), I decided to give itt a go. Went with no brine, rubbed her down with simple S&P, and filled cavity with orange and lemon quarters. Got the UDS up to 335ish (used 1 big pecan chunk just before putting her on).....and let her rip

After 3.5hours....she was done........rest and plate

Thanks for looking

Looks great. Except that I rub the skin with oil, that is how the majority of my turkeys have been cooked.

Not a huge turkey fan- I can handle it a couple of times a year... but I'd hit that.
