Default wood pellets in my stumps

Has anyone used pellets in their Stumps instead of wood chunks for smoking?

Well, I've made foil bombs with pellets for my kettle, but I'd think it would be a waste compared to chunks for a long cook though. But that's just me speculating.

Its funny you ask that question. I have often considered doing that very thing. I thought of putting a cold smoker pellet device (like amazin smoker) in the bottom and using that to control the smoke. The chunks can be a bit of a hassle to get smoking initially.

what about if you poured some charcoal in, then some pellets letting them fill up the gaps, and continue doing that the whole way up the chute? I'm not sure of how well it would work, or how cost effective it'd be, but i'd be interested to see the results.

Were you looking to cold smoke or just a substitute for chunks?
