Default Tri Tip in memoriam

In honor of my father in law who recently passed, and who was known far and wide for his tri tip, we decided to do one tonight.

Got it seasoned up with some Santa Maria rub that I put together last night and wrapped:

Put on the Weber kettle at 240ish with some pecan chunks for about an hour, to an IT of 130, and then on to the hot side to sear it up:

Sliced and plated:

All in all, came out great, thanks for lookin!

That looks great! I'm sure that your Father in Law would be proud!

You should also enter this into the Tri-Tip Throwdown if you haven't already!

I saw you entered it into the "where's the beef" TD. Make sure you get it into the tri-tip TD by tomorrow morning.

Can I double up on the same cook? And thanks all, aside from family, I doubt there was anything that man loved more than drinking beer while I cooked.
