Default Brisket - flat or whole?

Hey guys - I'm at SAMs right now pickin up meats for this weekend. They have one whole brisket left that is 19.8lbs. It's got good thickness and is fairl flexible up to the hard fat. Then that have a flat that is 8lbs. About 2-3 inches thick and uniform and of course very flexible.

Which one would you go with? I'm leaning towards the whole but don't know I that's too big. I've only smoked in the 15lbs range.

Thanks for your help.

I prefer whole packers, but make sure that it will fit into your cooker!

That does sound like a nice flat however. Why not get both and use which ever one turns out best?

Get both, cook both.
Sounds like you're cooking in Salisbury this weekend.
See you there (Holy Smoke BBQ)
