Default CustomPits.com A1 Competition Smoker Question

Hi guys, anyone ever use one of these, or see one being used, or know someone who owns one etc??

http://custompits.com/index.php/prod...etition-smoker

I found a lightly used one for sale, but can't find many reviews online. Any feedback is appreciated!

Thanks!

They are made near where I live. I've not seen one in person, but have talked to a few folks who looked into them. Quality built and heavy were the reviews, if I remember correctly.
The site says 1/4inch cold rolled steel smoker box. The firebox ??

There was a thread here recently where someone was having major issues with one of their pits. If you do a search you might find it.

Caution, at least 3 manufacturers build the A1 style pit. For the CustomPits.com unit older units, characterized by 2@3" square exhaust stacks had serious problems with undersized firebox and really poor air flow (dirty smoke and not getting up to temp). I think CustomPits has resolved these problems (a single 5"-6" exhaust) in the reverse flow configuration. There are 2-3 pretty extensive threads on here, I'll try and find a couple and add to this thread for you. Again, I think the CustomPits have corrected their problems.

Edit: here is a link with additional imbedded links:

And the other imbedded link

Again, I think CustomPits has solved their issues, the other 2, not so much!
And a third link, there are more.
