Default Windy City BBQ Classic 2013

Stoke and Smoke posted the basics, but here's a link to all the dirty details:

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7jo...it?usp=sharing

We had about 2,000 people show up to eat food from over 20 restaurants, drink craft beer from 5 breweries (they all poured from Lagunitas Truck, so it looked like only Lagunitas, but there was plenty of beer) and all had a good time. MASSIVE undertaking for a crew of 3 planners/producers, with the help of over 100 AWESOME volunteers. We are donating $5,000 to Operation BBQ Relief from the event, and we didn't lose too much money :) !!

Looking forward to next year...

MUD's was actually 3rd in chicken.

Had a great time Jarred. Having to stare at a $50m yacht was nice... But the views were to die for.

Congats to Dave on his first GC. Glad I could be there for the win...

Jarred,

We had a great time. You did an awesome job organizing that event.

I guess the Chicago judges didn't like my chicken salad entry.

Looking forward to next year.

Cheers,
Nate

Jarred, we had a great time at the event. The location was second to none. You had a huge undertaking at hand and for the most part was smooth. We had a great cook and were ecstatic with the results.

A huge thanks to Scottie for allowing me to use the RV and Jambo, it certainly made the difference in my sleep and my cook. A big shout out to my friends at Second City Smoke, Rack Masters and Husky Hog great job and hope to see you soon.

Real Urban BBQ won People's Choice, followed by One stop Shop - a group of young guys who built their own smoker, don't own a raunt, and the only other people's choice team that stayed up all night (other than us) cooking with all wood to serve fresh shoulder all day long...they were thrilled to win 2nd, and it was my favorite part of the contest...Smoque was 3rd.

I voted for smoque. I wasn't a real big fan of Real Urban BBQ. The Chinese one next to them was pretty interesting. I thought it was pretty good but kind of weird. I don't remember One stop shop. Where were they at?

Sorry, my bad. thought it was smoque.

Who was it that had the raging pit fire Sunday morning? big red pit. Impressive flames! By the time I got my phone out, was only smoke!
