Looking good! I'm glad that you are finally getting to cook with the Assassin 28. Let's see the finished product.

I didn't get to cook anything this weekend and I'm hankering for some ribs.

Now thats a good result. This infomercial almost has me sold. Great info on the assassin. Keep the updates coming.

Any surprises yet during the cooks..good bad or indifferent. What did you cook on before the assassin..any gravity expierence.

I did primo Xl and 2 large green eggs in competitions and for years prior. No gravity experience really, I have helped on them before but not my own. I do have experience on the pitmaker vault, safe and sniper as well as all the weber rm and kettles.

No issues so far, this cook today over yesterday's I used royal oak lump and it was great less of a draft draw flame into the cooking chamber I noticed. I think it did a better job on getting temp faster over the kingsford blue but I'd use both. Both cooks of ribs did the same, I think it cooked about 15 minutes faster on the assassin than in my ceramics. Cool to the touch pretty much everywhere except on the bottom third of the charcoal chamber and some around the doorways. Only use welder gloves around fire pit area. Half a bag of royal oak did 5 hours at 275. So 4-5lbs, its suppose to be that same time/fuel usage at 225-250, pretty awesome. Get one!

Thanks for the pictures of the finished product. Your ribs look awesome. I haven't used lump in my Assassin yet. I'll have to give it a try.

You are right about the exterior of the smoker staying fairly cool. But you definitely need gloves to mess with the fire box area. The Assassin does a great job and is made well.

Great looking ribs!

I'm only using Royal Oak lump in my Assassin, and it does seem to get to temp (250) in about an hour.

I threw a little in the weber chimney and torched it with my larger weed burner, it got to 275 in 30ish. Works out well for me.

Also thanks for the thumbs up. They tasted great.

I need to get one of those big weed burners. I'm just using a little hand torch. It does take a few minutes, and I'm burning through those small propane canisters.
