Is "Scotch filet" derogatory?
I am reasonably sure that a Scotch filet is simply a ribeye (reasonably). Is it a term meant to be derogatory towards Scotsmen?
Planning a BBQ and this came up. Help me que with a conscience you Aussie, Brit, and Kiwi farkers. Thanks. |

Get it Just kidding but yep, it's the meat part of ribeye, and you can que guilt free, no idea where the label came from but certain it wasn't meant to poke fun at the Scots.

Na, the term scotch probably means it originates from scotland. You would probably find the scottish are proud of the fact than take offence.
