A Pecan Tree at Home
There are two properties I am interested in buying (as my first home purchase) and they both happen to have very tall mature Pecan trees!
Is every pecan tree acceptable for use with BBQ, or are there certain preferred subspecies? Both trees look like they could use a lil' trimmin here and there!

From what I know, all species of Pecan are suitable for smoking. You might want to google Pecan species and do a little more research.

If the tree makes a pecan then you are good to go.

Pecan is in the Hickory family and is an excellent smoking wood. It is my favorite.

Don't park your car under it and best get a pellet gun for the squirrels...
