Default Charcoal Master Forge w/Weber vent question

My first post and I have a question.

I bought my Lowes Master Forge charcoal smoker while in Minneapolis brought it back to Canada and am modding it according to what I have read to make it more efficient.

So I put a Weber four hole top vent on the lid but only drilled out two vent holes so far. I have two capped vents at the bottom of the charcoal pan and a ball valve in the front as well.

Do I need to drill out the other two holes in the top vent for a target smoking temp of 225 degrees?

Have the fiberglass replacement gasket kit for the lid that will go on todY to seal her up.

Thanks for any replies.

You can never have too much exhaust and you should be controlling the temp with the intake air. Just me but I would not use wood stove fiberglass rope it sheds and Glass shards in your gizzard anit good. I'd go with oven gasket or even Cotton rope.

Yes I would absolutely drill out the other two holes--and leave the vent holes completely open during the cook.
