Default Hello from Northern CA

Hello all! I’m Scott and I’m from Loomis, CA. I’ve been grilling and doing a little bit of bbq’ing since I was a kid with my dad teaching me what he knew… I always thought I could turn out a decent rack of ribs (and sometimes do) until a buddy and I put a little friendly competition together… It wasn’t even a competition… His blew mine away and I decided right then I needed a real smoker. I started lurking around here, gathering ideas, and am now about ¾ of the way finished with my UDS build. Hopefully I will have a seasoning fire going soon and get some meat in it by this weekend!

Here's a few progress pics of the UDS:

Thank you for all the tips I’ve already grabbed and the many more I’m sure will come. Hopefully I can contribute at some point!

-Scott

Thanks all for the welcome! Got it all finished last night and ran it for 3-4 hours or so to break it in! Going to throw a chicken on there tonight. More pics to come!

In the end it will be okay.
And if it's not okay, it's not the end.
