Default Learning my Weber Performer. (Light Pr0n)

I got a Weber Performer for fathers day. I used it for the second time yesterday. Why only 2 times since fathers day? Well a week before fathers day my 4th child was born. BBQ and grilling are important..but newborns are much more.

So for dinner I wanted to keep it simple.

New York Strip Steak
Potatoes
Grilled Peaches.

I have not got the propane set up on the Performer so I used the chimney on the side burner on my gasser.

In the meantime I prepped the steak. Kept it simple with salt and a spice blend. Par baked the potatoes then coated them with olive oil and crushed garlic. Sliced the peaches. (Need to get freestone peaches next time)

Got a big mound going in the middle. Put the potatoes around the edge. Then the peaches and the steak in the middle.

I watched it like a hawk as I am not used to the charcoal yet. Only thing that I burnt was the peaches. I was to busy fussing over the potatoes.

Thanks for looking..

Nice job.

When I use my Performer (or any Weber Kettle) I set up a direct zone one one side of the grill and an indirect zone on the other. I've found that gives me better control. I can sear on the direct side and finish on the indirect, and I have a varying temperature on that side based on how fas something is from the charcoal pile.

A couple of firebricks makes multi-zoning real easy.

Nice cook and congrats on the important addition.

Congrats on the newborn and the performer. I use my performer at least twice during the week. It's a hell of a grill and the possibilites are endless. Great cook BTW!
