Default UDS at comp?

Has anyone ever competed with a single uds and a kettle on the side? Just wondering how it will work out.

I've cooked IBCA on a drum & bullet once. I wished for more cooking space but managed. Keep in mind we only had to turn in one half chicken, 7 ribs and 7 slices of brisket.

We do everything on 2 Uds but I would guess if we had to what we do on the other drum we could do on a kettle. Good luck

You might want a second kettle or a second drum. Any little snag will put you behind and it is hard to recover, at least it is for me.

Like others have said, I could do two drums or a drum and WSM, but a drum and a kettle is too tight for me.

My first competition I used one WSM. It takes some planning and some holding time for the brisket and pork.

One kettle and 2 uds here, works great and didn't break the bank.
