Hard to tell from the pic, but that doesn't look like tri tip to me. The grain is all wrong.

Publix is a huge rip off. Once in a while they will have deal and that's usually only on non meat items when they have B1G1. Kroger is much better. As a matter of fact, you are in ATL. You need to go the the Smyrna Intl Farmer's market. Their meat is really high quality and super cheap. How about fresh ribeye, for 3.99 and T-bone for $4.49

WHAT! That's pretty steep. My local butcher here in St. Louis gives it to me trimmed for 3.99/lb. Apparently I'm one of the only guys who's asked for a tri-tip cut though around here.

It is the only option we have for tritip in South Ga. Have never seen them at Costco in Jax
