Default Grad Party Ribs, Pulled Pork, and Chicken

Doing a graduation party and they want Baby Back ribs, Chicken Quarters, and Pulled pork. There will be plenty of sides also. As of now they said they're expecting around 150 people give, or take and probably half will be teenagers. Just wanted to see what you guys think on the amount of meat to buy is. Thanks for any help

Tough call. Everybody will eat ribs and nobody will eat the chicken.

Figure 3 bones PP and 1/3 lb of pork PP. Maybe 50 chicken quarters?

Really hard to say. You would need to know who you are serving to. There are a lot of people out there who (CRINGE) do not eat pork ... Yes I know that is hard to believe.

The worst thing about grad parties is that everyone invited will not eat. Are they fine with just legs and thighs? I would plan on about 70% eating and they will be eating light. Cut the ribs into single bones and plan on 7-8 racks, cook about 50 lbs of pork and about 50 quarters and then split the quarters. Also people attending a reception don't like to get too messy, because they may be attending other receptions.

So are you supposed to send questionaires to your potential guests???

Eaters or not you bid on a job PER PERSON. Doesn't matter if they are male, female, young, old, fat or skinny. You charge for a full plate of food for every guest.

LOL! I do lots of BBQ for youth groups. It's been my experience that the girls will eat picky and light in front of the boys. The boys will eat as much as you put out. They'll go for the beef first, then pork, then chicken. I'd figure whatever your normal calculation per person is and figure it will balance out in the end.
