Looking forward to it. Had a lot of fun last year. It was a really nice event.

Johnny Mitchell's Smokehouse helped to get this event started and we'll return again in 2013. Mike of Old Plantation BBQ has taken over the job of team liason with the RFPA and he's done a great job. If you haven't signed up for this one yet, I highly recommend it.

I'll be there judging as well as I've done every year it's been held. This is on my to do list when I get back to competing.

The Pig Lebowski is coming back for our 3rd year. A little disappointed no return of Molly Hatchet. Those guys tore it up for at least 20-24 minutes!

I still have faith that all of the trailer parks within a 40 mile radius will empty out on Friday night and come eat some chicken wangs.

I thoroughly enjoyed the pre-concert walk-through that Molly's fans graced us with.

Let's just say the Senior Mollys didn't quite deliver as the organizers had hoped. ;)

Wasn't that crowd something though? Kind of a dual PSA for Why Not To Get A Tattoo and Clothes You Looked Hot In That You Should Have Thrown Out 15 Years Ago all at the same time!

LMAO!

I'm glad we're not the only ones that noticed. After about the first 5 minutes of just standing there going DAYUM!!!, I had to break out the camera and start shooting the first album of "The People of BBQ".

Betsy says they are going with the GA Blues Brothers this year. We used them at the old Georgia BBQ Classic one time and they drew a more family-oriented crowd than what we saw for Molly Hatchet. We'll see soon! Time to start packing the trailer...

Does anyone know if they are changing venue for this event due to the heavy rain? With such a low-lying / riverside park, that place is probably a mud pit this week..

I'm wondering the same. I actually sent off an email to them to see what might be up.

Though Ron............just a thought here...........mud wrestling!! Weren't you bringing some "ladies/farm animals" anyways? It could be a win/win. Wait............what?!?!

Just saw this on their FB page.....

"Hey Teams and Fans - we are still planning to host Roman Roast on the River at Ridge Ferry Park. If anything changes due to rain/water levels - we will contact cook teams and post on facebook to let everyone know. As of now - we are still hosting the event at Ridge Ferry Park."
