Default • Jamaican Curry Goat

Hey guys... I go M.I.A. for a bit and some farkin Aussie tells me there's a Caribbean throwdown going on.. Nice timing right?? Well I just had to throw in my 2 cents since I happened to do a curry goat this week . I took the pics on my phone as it wasn't "intended" for throwdown use but what the hell... I present to you "Phrasty's Curry Goat"

I started out with what you see here and blended it with some S&P + EVOO

Then took the goat and introduced the two...

It sat in the fridge over night and went into a hot dutchie over a wood fire to sear the meat in a little oil. Once that was done I added a bit of water and simmered... for a while.

Once the meat was done "enough" I added carrot and sweet potato and let it go some more over the fire (This takes a skill OR luck to get the two done at the same time... lol)

After a while longer it's ready to come off the fire.

I plated it up with some rice & peas and a tomato salad. Was perfect! It had that strong Jamaican curry and scotch bonnet pepper screaming at me!

Well thanks for looking guys!
Cheers

winner winner curry goat dinner. I love curry goat. now I'm gonna have to make a trip to the east side so I can get my fix. Better yet want to share the recipe, I've tried to find an authentic recipe for a long time.

Oddly enough, I had my first experience with curried goat at the work cafeteria last week. It was not bad, but yours looks WAY better!

Looks great. That rice & peas looks just like my wife's Jamaican brother in law's mothers recipe.
