Default new charcoal ?

was at home depot today and noticed a new looking bag of charcoal briq.
the bag is labled "embers". when i looked at the bag closely its labled royal oak. $5.99 for a 16 lb bag. not bad. bought a bag and hope to try it soon.

my smart and final, same store, no longer carries lazzari. now they carry best of the west which is junk. i asked about lazzari and just got shrugs.
but again, i'm talking single bag briquettes and no lump.

Embers was a charcoal company bought out by Royal Oak in 1999.

Usually larger bags and larger pieces. I use Royal Oak commercial briqs and that is what they are. Works great in large stick burners

well i know little to nothing. just that i saw a new to me product at hd.
i use little lump, ro stuff, but mostly briq so i don't know that much about lump.
i do have a three year old bag of lazzari oak lump that i still havn't tried.
around the west coast lazzari is a much liked product.
