Default BWS Party - Finished my Custom Cart - PR0N

Here are some pics of my cart for the Party. I have a total of $300 into it including steel, powder coat, wheels, and cutting board. It took me maybe 10 hours to cut, weld, and grind. For the cutting board, I screwed it to push in plastic tube caps. The board can be removed from the cart and placed in the dishwasher.

Very nice, you will love having the cooker up off the ground. Much more erconomic. I just had a friend that runs a local fab, weld shop build me one for my Fatboy real similiar except I put on a SS shelf. He charged me a whopping 100.00 to do it.

Thanks! I'm pretty impressed with myself that I came up with that. I have 16 of the tube plugs left over, so I could rig up four more boards to swap out during a comp.

That's awesome! Now it's just a question of how many people contact you to build them one!

Very nice build, clean & simple! I use the same cutting board material on BBQ tables & fish cleaning stations & buy it by the 30"x72" or 48"x96" sheet. It is great stuff!

One question, isn't having the BWS that far over make the cart a tip hazard? I would think you'd want to expand out the near side wheels and frame to give you a little more of a solid wheelbase.

Craftsmanship on that looks great though!!!

Good question! I have tested the balance and it takes quite an effort to tip the cart from the cutting board side. The smoker is mounted just slightly left of center, so there is still a bit of weight on the cutting board side. I'm sure if I was rolling the cart along and hit a curb it may start to tip, but I should be able to stop fast enough to prevent a disaster. For now the smoker goes from my garage to driveway and back.

No idea how hot it gets but you might want to maneuver the cart from the smoker side vs the cutting board side. knowing from riding motorcycles you very quickly can reach an angle where anything will dump unless you can hold it up on strength alone.

What's the old saying...an ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure.
