Default bacon question

So i like to make bacon balls But when i cook then the bacon seems to be raw still even hours cooking in the smoker even when i have it next to the fire.

So is there a way i can precook the bacon where i can still make them in a ball and then get them a little more done in the smoker?

You can purchase precooked bacon (although more expensive). I used it for ABTs and it's been the best bacon wrapped anything that I've done.

I was having this problem with bacon wrapped shrimp and other things, and was given the advice to use thin sliced bacon instead of thick or even regular.

You can also precook it before you wrap, but you don't want to cook it far enough to crisp up.

That's what I've gathered from others from my failure.

I precook thin bacon almost to the point of crisp, and wrap while the bacon is still hot and bendable.
