Default Redhead Score!

Thank you, BBQ gods!

Saw it on CL late last night- too late to call, so I emailed. No reply this a.m. so I called and left a message. Got a return call an hour later and I was down the road...

Seller was not the original owner nor a user, but a guy "in real estate" who seems to collect and resell estate items. This kettle was one such item.

I checked it out and it was in such nice shape, and I wanted it so badly, that I didn't even bother negotiating- I just handed him the $15.

(This takes some of the sting out of missing an early redhead master touch by a lousy 20 mins. last month.)

Little rust, no rot-through, solid grates, and all vents move freely.

As best as I can tell, from looking at the Weber Kettle Club site, it's a 1971-75 era model.

That's real cool man. I saw one at an antique shop a while back, while I didn't ask how much, I'm thinking about stopping back by for the hell of it and asking the price. Not like I need it, but it would be cool to have in the arsenal!

Good for you!
