Default Possible June contest at Moosehead Lake, ME

To all of the New England BBQ peeps...

There is a contest in the works for June 14th and 15th in the Moosehead Lake area of Maine. Rules and prizes are still being worked out, but we are looking at $750 for 1st place over all, $500 for 2nd place over all and $250 for 3rd place over all. No prize money for individual category finishes, just over all placement. Also, all meat for turn ins will be provided at no charge to the contestants and there will be no entry fee for the contest.
There will also be a $100 deposit to hold your spot for the contest but refundable to you upon arrival at the contest. The organizers would like to keep the contest geared towards back yard types, but all levels of the game are going to be welcomed.

The main purpose of this post is to see how much interest is out there and if any one would like to be a part of the event? More details are to come as they are finalized. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Any one???

For pro teams, a sanctioned KCBS event will draw more interest.

I am well aware of that and have brought that up to the ones with the purse strings. But, they are insistent in keeping this a back yard type event at a minimal cost to every one involved.
