Default CL Score! WSM question

Everday, sometimes twice a day I log onto CL and type the words "Weber Smoker" into the search box, and everyday there is nothing there. Occasionally there will be a WSM for close to retail, but yesterday there was one listed simply as "Weber Smoker" with no picture for $60. So I reply and ask the seller if it's a Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker, and if so is it an 18 or 22? I also asked if he could send me a picture. He replies that he doesn't know, it just says weber on it, but here's a picture. Well sure enough, it's a last gen 18 1/2" WSM. I ask him if it's all there and he emails me back that it has everything he bought it with. Now i'm getting excited, so I email him back and tell him to call me, I'll take it. He calls me and I find out he's 65 miles from my house, in the same town my son and his wife just moved to last weekend. I call my son and tell him to call this guy and tell him you'll be right there with $60. The guy lives two blocks from my son and the transaction is made. Now my son has his first ever cooker and has just joined the Brethren, I can't wait to visit his new house and help him break in his WSM. Question: Did the last generation WSM have a charcoal ring like the new ones do? If so he'll need to get one, as that is the only thing this one didn't come with.CL WSM.jpg

Yes they have a charcoal ring. You can order a new one from Weber.

That is an outstanding score.

Very nicely done.
Yes, they had a charcoal ring, but you've already been told that.

Default CL Score! WSM question

Great score. Another option would be to make a charcoal ring from expanded metal.

excellent find. shouldnt be hard to buy or fab a ring. If you go to the virtual weber bullet site http://virtualweberbullet.com/partschematic.html there will be the parts list and a number to call and order one.
