Gas cooker...
Is using a gas cooker with a fire box for charcoal and wood frowned upon in the BBQ culture? BBQ competitions? Thanks!

once you cook on all wood / charcoal you will not waste your time with gas..for comps some / lots of santioning bodies deemed illegal

Gas is illegal for KCBS sanctioned contests - the only heat sources allowed are wood, wood pellets or charcoal.
