Default Fire at Louie Mueller's in Texas

**** FIRE UPDATE ****
Yesterday's fire flared again early Sunday morning, bringing firefighters from Thrall and Taylor back to Louie Mueller's to extinguish the flames. The old brick pit built in 1959 is irrevocably lost. No one was injured but smoke, grease and water damage is extensive. Prospects for a Monday 2/25/13 reopening are now uncertain. More updates forthcoming as info becomes available.

Oh man. I sure hate hearing that. Some of the best BBQ I've ever eaten came from that pit.

The good thing is now they can build either a bigger pit, or several new ones to help him keep up with demand. He had to fire up a huge smoker out back to keep up with the crowds. I'm glad this did not happen during summer.
