Default oven warming tray for resting meat

So we just got a new oven/stove delivered today. for those of you that don't know what an oven is it's that metal box in your kitchen some poeple cook food in.

Wifey picked out a model that has a warming tray in the bottom(where we stored pans in our old oven). As soon as i saw this feature a light bulb went off in my head and i thought it might be a good place to rest large cuts of meat like brisket or pork butt. today i played with mine and tested the 3 settings with my maverick. here's what i got:

1) 120-129 after about 30-45 minutes
2) 150-160 about 30 minutes later
3) 175-180 30 minutes later

Has anyone else done this? i'm considering trying this for my next brisky cook. using my cooler has worked well but sometimes it's filled with cooking supplies(beer). any thoughts? which setting would you use?

I preheat my oven to 175F, I put the meat in the oven and turn it off. It holds meat pretty well.

The warming drawer on my oven isn't controllable, it's either on or it's off....but I regularly use it to rest meat in, I just put a couple of plates in there and the pan with the meat in on top of them - it works fine.

My warming drawer is locked at 170, but it works grand for resting meats.

Most stress for me is timing all foods, now I can make anything 30 minutes early and no more stress (like when making pancakes for an army of kids )

Cool, I'm definitely gonna try mine out on my next brisket.

The #2 150-160 setting will probably work the best for holding meats except for rare beef.

I was thinking about large cuts like brisket and butts.

I always rest my meats in the oven after preheating it to 150 (the lowest setting I have) and then turning it off when I put the meat in. It holds the bbq nicely.
