Default So, I've Got This Book...

Being new here and a bbq fan (see my current build threads)... My wife found this book for Christmas, "Wicked Good BBQ".
Not to take anything from the site or promote the book in any way, just looking for thoughts based on experience.
Now, I only ask (as previously stated) because I am new here, and likely discussed before.
I notice on the resources page under Instructional, that THIS site was referenced!
My question(s):
Is there a connection somehow, are the author(s) on this site (would just like to thank them), thoughts on style and recipes tried.

Yes...the head cook of the team formerly known as known as Hart Attack. Great guy and competitor!!!
