Default Keri's apple bean question?

I have googled my back side off!!! Anyone put Keri's beans under a butt on the smoker? I was thinking about not putting any meat besides the bacon and letting the butt drip its goodness in the beans instead? Also...about how long at 250-275 should they be in the pit under said butt? I know...I want leftovers but i would like to cut the recipie down a bit...feeding about 10 people? Thanks in advance. .....sorry for the multiple question post!

My guess is that it will end up way too greasy.

They might be greasy as Jim mentioned. I smoke a naked fatty and then crumble that into the beans when I make Keri's recipe.

I wouldn't put it under the butt - think it would be way to greasy.
I too dice up a cooked fatty in my beans if I don't have any pork on hand.
As far as how long to cook them - just till they are hot - everything is cooked, you are just getting them hot.
Don't cut down on the recipe - make the whole thing. Even with 10 people you may not have leftovers.
