I know it does help regulate temps, but does it actually make the meat more moist or not?
I had it in and took the water out mid cook b/c I didn't like the crust, but I'm wondering about the mousture level of the meat. Side note- I'm using my brothers one touch silver. I don't like that it doesn't have an ash pan, but I do like how I can see how open the vent is under the grill if I get on my hands and knees.

It doesn't add any moisture to the meat but it DOES add moisture to the smoker which helps the meat retain moisture for a longer amount of time.
