Jambo Help: The Jambo Junior Trailer?!
As you may or may not have noticed, there is a new Jambo Junior trailer on the market. The price isnt unreasonable so it has peaked my interest. I have been searching on this site all morning for some photos of the Jambo backyard version (or any Jambo for that matter) of what one looks like fully loaded.
Some questions for both junior and regular models... What are the Jambos' capacities? How long does it stay up to temp? How do you light one? Are they insulated enough to cook when the external temp outside is near zero? Does anyone have photos of cooks on Jambos? Any help here would be appreciated. Thank you!

I would look on Facebook for the group called " fans of jambo" . Most people there own a jambo and should be able to answer your questions. If that doesn't work call jambo direct their number is listed on their website.

I have a J-3 with the boiler door. I cooked 6 butts last Friday and the outside temp was about 30 with 5-10 mph winds. I lit the 2 lbs of lump charcoal with a looflighter (first time to use the looflighter). After the charcoal was burning, I added a few sticks of apple wood. It took almost 2 hours for it to get to 275. I had to use to looflighter during the 2 hours to get it to temp. Once it reached temp it stayed on 275 with little effort. This is only the 6th time I've cooked on it. Once you get it to temp it is easy to maintain. Only the firebox is insulated.
I usually use a "wax" starter stick to start the charcoal. I don't know anyone that uses lighter fluid in a Jambo.

These pics should give you an idea of how much you can get in there. I use pans much of the time so they take up a little more room than when not using them. Also, you can add a shelf too that will add a little more space.
