Hello All,
My brother order a cleaned and split pig for the Super Bowl. We are going to pick it up on Saturday. My question is how big will the 60lb pig be for transportation purposes. What size cooler? My roaster can handle 100lb hog, but this is my first attempt at whole hog. Thanks for the info. |

The pig will not be real big, and will feed 32 to 42 people. Take a couple bags of ice to put between the halves and keep it cool. I have a clean waterproof tarp I use when I pick up from the slaughterhouse, pack them with ice, and wash the tarp with bleach water, and put away for the next use.
Save the cheek meat for yourself, it is the greatest...

A 60# pig will fit in a large marine cooler easily.
WHY did you get it split?
