Default Half of a picnic

Was at my local grocery store and found a bone in half picnic that i picked up to make some pulled pork its about 5lbs. on a side note it is 11 degrees this morning and the fatboy got to temp in about 45 min and is holding strong.

Does it cook the same when they are cut in half, I often see these in the deli section. I usually opt for a smaller whole picnic

Yeah it cooks the same and the smaller size worked out no leftovers.

I am thinking of buying a couple smaller butts for a work event that is tomorrow. How long did it take to cook and what temp. I unusually only do 8 or 9 lb butts

it was about 5.5 pounds took about 8hrs at 240
