I really like this one.
Started with 4 ancho and 3 New Mexico chiles ![]() Ground 'em up ![]() Made a paste with the ground chiles, cocoa powder, corn meal, broth, cumin, mexi oregano and cayenne chile powder. ![]() Sweated some onions and jalapenos ![]() Added the chile paste with tomatoes, more broth, molasses and garlic and simmered. ![]() Browned the beef in two batches ![]() And deglazed the pan with beer after each browning, then added beer to chili. ![]() The finished product ![]() |

I dvr'd the tv episode, in your opinion how do you feel it turned out? Always skeptical of ultimate anything.

Everyone loved it. Its really complex. I don't usually want chili to be that much work but it's worth out to me. I wouldn't call it ultimate but it's a nice change from typical chili. I add more cumin than is called for.
