Not a dumb question at all. No, I haven't checked the batteries. I figured that given only one probe stopped working and was still giving some reading (even if it was "LLL") it wasn't the batteries. I'll replace 'em and see if that is the issue. Doubt that is it, but wouldn't it be great if it was?

happened to the BBQ probe on mine a while back. I would be able to get it to read for a few minutes before the LLL I was going to order the 6ft probes anyway, so that's what I just did.
