Default I think I dodged a bullet

Did my 1st hot & fast shoulder yesterday. Went on around 1:30pm off around 9pm. Rested a couple hours in the cooler, pulled, packed and off to bed.
I'd have to every bit as good as my slow cooks
I woke up this morning, It was pouring ran out. Odd the forecast didn't call for rain. Meh so started getting ready to take the wife to her Doc. appointment when it hit me. OH FARK!!!!!!!
I ran outside and yep.. there is my Maverick sitting on the table next to the smoker not to mention a almost full bag of charcoal.
I dried the unit and probes off and left for the Doc.
Much to my surprise I just checked a little bit ago and it is working fine!
I blame this on my buddy that gave us a nice bottle of Tequila for Christmas.
Stupid bottle has been calling my name for months

Play it safe, put the maverick in a zip lock full of uncooked Rick for couple of days to pull any moisture out

Which model was it? et73 or 732? I had heard that the et73 was supposedly water proof to some degree because there is a gasket on the inside cover to keep water. Don't know how far that is true. Good to hear that your maverick is still working.

If I think it is going to rain, I put a plastic bag over it during the cook, just in case.

732. I got it a few months back and used a Ziploc bag when the snow was flying. There was no rain in the forecast
