How does one check Team Names?

Say I want to start a Q team Downunder to interact with the members here,
how does one check if the name is vacant.?
How does one Register said name?
Remember I am offshore and a noob.

these are 3 I know of .As far as registering its a crapshoot I think. There seems to be lots of duplication and or similarities. Some have suggested copywriting etc ,I dont know about that stuff.

No, there is no official regulating body for team registrations. However, to avoid confusion I would visit the sites linked above and try to not have the same team name as someone else.
