Space heater

Anyone have a recommendation for a space heater that will keep an EZ-UP warm? Supposed to get cold this weekend and I'd prefer to stay warm. :)

Not sure about where you will be using it but a round kerosene heater is economical and toasty. If you have a wood burning fireplace, it's hard to beat an openflame firepit. I would not go electric because they are so expensive to run. The dual or quad propane rigs are nice too and attach to a standard propane bottle.

I bought this one at academy and with 4 walls up in my canopy it worked pretty well. Used it the last 2 weekends at comps. I even did a temp check and it brought the temp up from 38ish outside to 45-46ish in the canopy both weekends. Worked well.

I have two that I use on job sites, I do Heating and Air Conditioning in Phoenix and used to in Buffalo NY, theres a heater for every application. If youre under an eazy up try and get 2-3 sides on it (Tarp or side curtains) to block some of the wind, if there is any.


One is (Top heater) the type you hook onto the valve of the tank which is whisper quiet and if you set it up near you it radiates heat in a one directional flow. Nice to have if youre sitting or standing in one place. Inexpensive price. http://universalheaters.com/infrared_propane/index.html

The other (convection) is a cylinder looking burner with hose, I used this in my non heated garage in Buffalo NY when I lived there in winter and I took my coat off inside it became so warm. The forced air heaters do a really good job too, but you really need that aimed into an area with walls or side curtains. Its also priced and loud.

Ive used these models for years, theyre inexpensive and do the job as long as you have 3-4 sides on your EZ up or area.

Thanks for the input. We used a forced air one the last time it got cold, and it burned through a whole tank of propane before the night was over, and you're right...it was loud!

This was my set-up during the Operation BBQ Relief response in NJ...
Had two canopies ziptied together and added a wrap-around 4 panel wall facing the wind - leaving the remaining downward panels exposed.

Using the Lang as a heater probably works well!

I have one like this....

I've used it to heat my 4 car garage. I have also used a coleman white gas camp stove to put some heat into a double EZ up with walls for a Cub Scout camp trip and it helped significantly so I can't imagine the derosene heater wouldn't do the trick.

The Mr Heater we purchased for this weekend worked like a champ! Temps got down to the upper 30s and we closed up all the sides on the tent, and it kept the tent nice and toasty.
