Started competing in chili cookoffs back in the 1990's and have competed in more than I care to count. I became a CBJ in MiM in 2005, then MBN and in GBA in 2010. I've probably judged 130+- BBQ comps (sanctioned and unsanctioned) over this time. That said, I really enjoy competing more than I enjoy judging, and hope to get back to doing 4 or 5 a year in the near future.

Myron sent a tweet last night that he won with photos of hardware and his team. Not sure of the individual categories, etc.

Myron Mixon ‏@Lord_of_Q Just won our 7th Big Pig Jig state championship.. My team rocks and I love them all. They're the best. Jacks Old South rules

Awesome news! Thanks. Hopefully if someone gets top 10 or 20 in each category, that would be fun to see...

Just a quick thanks to all the teams who did an outstanding job in hoboken. Prepping for another 2000 meals for tomorrow. We may make up 100 or so teams but this weekend we were truly 1 Awesome team

We got 2nd in sauce, and here's the others that I can remember:

Whole hog:

1st Jacks Old south
2nd Dixie Que

Shoulder:
1st Dixie Que
2nd Jacks Old South

Ribs:
1st Bubba Grills
2nd Rescue Smokers

Not that it really matters, but we got 29th out of 102 teams in ribs. Not bad for our first MBN contest. Way different than KCBS. Really enjoyed it, but I'm ready for the KCBS contest in Cumming in two weeks!
