Default BBQ Guru's PartyQ on UDS

Just wondering how a PartyQ works on a UDS; which attachment/mods do you buy to make this thing work?

I have seen a photo of a partyQ installed on a UDS using a ball valve on the top of the drum if this is the case how is it heating the UDS up? does it suck air UP over through the briquets?

I would have thought install it at the bottom with the intake valves but maybe I am mistaken.

thanks.

I haven't put a Guru on mine yet but I made it with an extension so the ball valve is at lid height, the intake hole is down at the bottom under the charcoal basket area. My extension is welded to the sidewall so I can carry the UDS like a suitcase if I am loading it in the rig for a tailgate or competition. Does that make sense?

I use this same setup on the bottom of 3 different cookers including a UDS I had. Works great and keeps the heat away from the fan.

You can kinda see in this pic how mine is done. I just used 2 90's and a piece of 18" pipe. I use a partyq on mine and it works awesome.

mine is attached to the ball valve at the bottom of the drum. Most online stores have a 3/4" adapter that screws onto the ball valve.

Here is mine. I used the Guru pipe adapter. The PartyQ works fine on a UDS, but is not needed in my opinion. I have only used it once and other times just use the ball valve.
