Default Bucket List "Check"--Waygu Ribeye

Awhile back, we discussed Cooking Bucket Lists.

http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...ghlight=bucket

I can check off Waygu Ribeyes from mine

Split a case of 3 with a friend. He took two and I took one. Within ounces of 12.5lbs each. Australian Waygu at $18.40 / lb.
They were frozen, so my distributor sliced them 1.5" thick with a 30oz little roast off the end.
Vacusucked them.

They ranged from 17.5 oz to 22oz each. For the math wizards, that is about $21.00 each.

Took out the first one to cook.
Light coat of soy with pepper and garlic.

Into the PG500 indirect at about 275 to 120 IT.

Then direct to about 135 IT.

Rested a bit and then cut in half to share with Mrs Kapn.

My plate with Burgundy Mushrooms, Butter Beans, and some fried Taters.

As Tasty,Moist and Tender as expected.
We are "hooked" now.

Good Eats

Thanks for Looking

TIM

No way are we going back Joe.

They are a bit pricey, but not something that breaks the bank.
I have seen Choice at some stores that is in the $11 + range, and Prime even higher, so a couple of extra bucks is worth it to us.
And these are "restaurant trimmed", so very little waste.

When we can have steak of that quality for a little over $10 each, I am a happy camper!

I do have a couple of Choice RibEyes and one Porterhouse in the freezer we will have to suffer through.

Awesome score, Tim! I'm with you on paying extra for the good stuff. And actually, in a restaurant, one of those would set you back at least $60 or more...

Absolutely gorgeous, mouthwatering cook too!

They look to be about grade 4-5's and that is perfect for doing steaks like that
Price is sensational too, makes me a little mad that we Aussies can't get it at those prices!
