I've been on the Primal Blueprint since 01 Sep, and I too have shed some
flab (298 down to 280). Primal allows 50 grams of carbs per day for weight
loss (100 for maintenance), so it's a bit more liberal than some low-carb

Anyhow, here's my version of a low-carb sauce. It's designed for chicken,
but it would be great on other things.

Sherry-Shallot Glaze for Chicken

Tailgate BBQ Sauce

1 cup red wine vinegar
1/3 Cup Apple Juice
2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
2/3 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tsp olive oil
1 small onion, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced

Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil in a saucepan. Cook until transparent. Add vinegar and bring to low boil, add salt, pepper, paprika, apple juice, and mustard, mix well. Add worcester sauce and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. Serve warm or baste while warm.

Maybe you could substitute diet soda for apple juice????
