Default Finishing rubs

I am ever gaining knowledge as I learn to make some great comp BBQ. I believe many of the best teams use finishing rubs. I know that Smoking Guns has Gun Powder and Big Poppa Smokers has Happy Endings. My question is do most of you use the finishing rub to enhance the rub you used. My thought is to take my rub and grind it as fine as possible , and use it for my finishing rub. Who uses finishing rubs and what are you using?

Stubbs Rub. Fine grind and "herby" but not overpowering.

Tried it once with fine ground salt lick seasoning, never did it again. Guess it didn't help that I really didn't know what I was doing 3 years ago. I just get ideas and try them is the result of some of my famous BBQ where I'm from.
Skip the finishing rub, get some red boat #40 fish sauce and put about 1-2 tsP in the foil. Adds a meaty goodness to the food, sounds crazy but works.

I use Gunpowder, and a fine grind of my pork rub. I buy the coarse Dizzy Dust so I can use it as is on butts or grind it down for ribs or fatties.... this would be another good candidate for a fine grind finishing rub.

What do you think, should I grind my own finishing rub or do I just buy commercial like Gun Powder?
