It looks to me just like a pro q. For some reason I think Napoleon may have bought pro q and changed the name. Or something along those lines.

I like how in the video, the voice says "backed by a solid warranty".

My point is, what is the point of the word "solid". Why not tell me what the actual warranty is?

It's just a promotional video.

The Napoleon Apoolo is the same as the Pro-Q Exel 20, only the doors and thermometer have aq napoleon label.

I just cooked on one last week.

http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh....php?p=2233647 (picture of the Apollo is # 3)

I was really impressed and the price is right. Great little cooker. If I saw one on sale I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up. I'm sure you're comparing it to the WSM. I just picked up a WSM cuz it was on clearance and the guy gave me a great deal on the floor model. So here you go.

Pros

1. The Apollo has these lockable hinges. WSM doesn't. Which allows you to take the whole thing off via the cover.

2. The Apollo has a "door" as opposed to a metal flap. That door has hinges whereas the WSM's flap just falls off if you don't do it right.

3. You have separate thermometer probes which some people care about. I don't but I'm not a big temperature freak.

Cons.

1. It is indeed a better deal than WSM but it's only marginally cheaper. The one on Amazon is only like $50 lower than the weber.

2. Weber has a larger support base i.e. there's more people using them, more people selling parts. They even got their own forum!

no problem j'ville.

i think if an official promo is gonna mention the product warranty, they ought to be specific instead of vague.

I have owned several of them and sold them all off in favor of my UDS. They do a fair job but just too many leaks with the segmented design. 6 hours max out of a burn but most likely less than that. I paid $99 for them when Costco cleared them out a couple of years ago. I would not buy one if it was fairly close to a WSM in price.

If I am remembering correctly, the metal is lighter gauge than the WSMs. Anyone know?

I would guess they are about the same. The WSM is just a better design.
