Default Calling all virginia brethren!! Where to get bacon or pork belly?

So gonna try curing my own bacon for the first time. I was wondering where the brethren around me get their pork belly or bacon. So far the only place ive found is a butcher in downtown fredericksburg that sells just the bacon for 4.00 a pound. Is this a normal price? Thats about the price of store bacon when I get it from wegmans or costco. Are their better options around me....maybe straight from a source? Any help is appreciated

Chris.

Not sure how close you are to Catlett, VA but Wilson's Farm Meat Co. should have what you're looking for.

just looked wilsons farm up and it's about an hour from me. hopefully they will sell just bacon or pork belly. unfortunately my wife will not eat pork (besides bacon, i know, she's crazy) so buying half or a whole pig will not make much sense for me. i will have to call them tomorrow when they open. have you bought pork from them before?

So I called wilson's farm in catlett, va and they have the boneless belly for 3.50 a pound. Definitely a better price but not really worth the hour drive. Headed to olde towne butcher now

4 bucks a pound here, if you can find it whole. Most everybody wants to slice it.
