Butler, Mo contest

Has anyone done this in the past? I am thinking about doing it this year but wanted to get some information on it since I cant find a website.

All I know is they sent me an entry form from the Bates County Sheriffs Department, and on official looking letterhead. Even my mail carrier was telling me I was in trouble because I was getting a letter from the sheriff. Entry seems reasonable but I dont think my heart could handle any thing else mailed from them.

We have done this contest in the past. I don't think they had the contest last year, but we went previous years. We always had a good time and never had any problems. The contest is held on school property and put on by the local Sheriff's Dept. So obviously, red cup rules are enforced. We would be in for this year but we have other plans.

We cooked this contest in 2010 and thought it was very well organized, a good contest overall. That year it was held at the Fairgrounds and there was plenty of room for each team site.

cooked it in 2010, good contest, put on by the sheriefs dept....RED CUP a must!...staff issues in 2011 so they didnt put it on...glad to see it back...last contest any where near kc for the year...sausage entry, beans , sauce entrys...lots of fun!
